Our Programs
Basic Manufacturing
The Basic Manufacturing Program is designed to equip participants with foundational skills essential for entry-level employment in the manufacturing sector. This hands-on training introduces core concepts in industrial production, safety protocols, and equipment operation. The program includes comprehensive training in essential soft skills, résumé development, and basic manufacturing mathematics. In addition, participants will receive instruction in forklift operation, providing hands-on experience and safety certification aligned with industry standards.
YAMTEP partners with various community agencies to deliver basic manufacturing training to underserved communities. The program prepares participants for direct employment in just a few weeks and is supported by strategic workforce development funding.
CDL Program
This program will guide participants through the Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) pre-licensing process, providing foundational instruction, regulatory knowledge, and preparation for permit testing. Once participants obtain their CDL permit, YAMTEP will provide support with Behind-the-Wheel (BTW) training, ensuring they gain the hands-on experience required to meet licensing standards and prepare for the road test.
High School Program
Our High School Program is a 12-week workforce readiness program specifically designed for graduating high school seniors. It provides structured training, career exploration, and hands-on experience to support a successful transition into employment or post-secondary opportunities.
This initiative provides hands-on learning opportunities that prepare participants for post-secondary education, vocational training, or direct entry into the workforce.
Transportation Program
The Transportation Program is designed to eliminate mobility barriers for individuals in underserved communities, ensuring reliable access to employment, education, and community services. Operated by YAMTEP, the program provides structured, location-to-location transit that supports workforce development and social engagement.
Summer Of Opportunity
The Summer of Opportunity is an additional structured three-week program designed to provide participants with meaningful engagement and skill-building experiences.
Our standard 3-week programs offer more than just training—they offer a gateway to a higher standard of living for individuals who are ready to rise to the challenge. If you bring the time and commitment, we’ll bring the hands-on education, expert instruction, and real-world preparation to help you succeed.
This is more than a program—it’s a partnership. Together, we’ll build the skills, mindset, and momentum needed for long-term success.
With an 82% employment placement rate, our graduates don’t just walk away with knowledge—they walk into new opportunities with the confidence that comes from knowing they’re ready.
YAMTEP PROGRAMS
What Our Students Have Been Saying
While at YAMTEP, I learned how to read blueprints and work with precision instruments. They also trained us on interview skills, which made a huge difference. By the end of the program, I had received two job offers.
Seven years later, I’m still working at the job I got through YAMTEP. I recently completed a two-year apprenticeship and earned my journeyman’s license as an industrial maintenance technician. I now make more than twice what I earned before, and beyond the paycheck, I gained a trade, a truck, and the confidence to take on new challenges in life.
It all started with YAMTEP. Taking a chance, learning new skills, and humbling myself by riding the bus every day, it was all worth it. My life, and the life of my family, has changed for the better. I’m truly grateful I took the leap.
Henry Reed
As a machinist and manufacturing employee I was as new as it gets in 2018 coming into YAMTEP. I had zero experience when it came to blue prints and even less, if possible, when it came to manufacturing. YAMTEP changed that drastically. I was able to acquire the skills necessary to not only read and understand blue prints as well as manufacture parts but also become adequate in precise measuring.
At the end of the program I was helped along the way to find placement in a company that I am still currently employed at. I was given every opportunity to advance and did just that. I couldn’t have done it without the help of Tyrone Reaves and YAMTEP. I am tremendously grateful for both of them.
I would recommend and advise anyone looking to better themselves and their future to strongly consider YAMTEP. The program is set to help those in need succeed and the people involved show their compassion and commitment every single class.
